This position
As a Senior Director of Engineering for the DocuSign AI Platforms team, you are responsible for leading the core team of developers working on the foundational architecture and engineering of our next gen agreement analytics products, services and developer platform. The Intelligent DAC (DocuSign Agreement Cloud), is built on a foundation that includes a set of critical building blocks such as a specialized agreement repository, data model, data pipelines, runtime for ML serving, semantic search and other. These core data, compute and analytics service layers are essential to the success and differentiation of the DocuSign Agreement Intelligence. You are a top technical leader with a track record of multiple industry leading product successes, strong architectural insights, deep understanding to developer ecosystems and platforms and a champion of quality and fundamentals. You will bring your technical chops and team building chops together to lead a world class team to successfully take on this unique responsibility. You will exemplify a flexible attitude combined with an aptitude to learn and share. You will embrace and enhance our culture and be a role model.
This position is a people manager role reporting to VP, Engineering – DocuSign AI is designated Flex.
Responsibilities
• Hire, grow and lead a world class engineering team as a magnet for hiring and developing great talent
• Be a carrier and role model of our culture
• Author long range roadmap for the platform team
• Lean in leadership to deliver success against our goals
• Be responsible for building our high scale platform for agreement intelligence and runtime infrastructure on DocuSign foundation services
• Champion strong fundamentals (reliability, resiliency, data privacy, security, compliance) for these cloud services assets
• Develop the above capabilities to be consumed both by DocuSign Agreement Cloud as well as an integration platform for 3rd party applications and workflows
• Be responsible for several V1 initiatives to enhance and unlock new and innovative use cases for our customers
• Have a passion for continuous improvement; have built learning organizations that keep up with the state of the art, and are an example and mentor to your team
• Be responsible for delivering products that delight customers while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt
• Be an expert at agile continuous delivery, DevOps and TDD/BDD and will champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a frictionless high-quality development environment
• Dive deep into technology and are on the forefront of the latest tools, technologies, and strategies and help evaluate, prototype, and introduce them to our team
• Provide coaching and leadership in software best practices, automated test strategies, and work toward flattening the cost of change curve for our software products and services
• Demonstrate track record of building high performing, secure applications and building security into the DNA of products
• Obsess over great user experiences and will be a partner to product management/engineering, sales, operations, and other parts of the business
Basic qualifications
• 15+ years of combined software development & management experience across multiple languages and frameworks or equivalent experience
• 10+ years hands on software development or equivalent experience
• 5+ years managing software organizations over 25 people or equivalent experience
Preferred qualifications
• Demonstrated track record leading geographically dispersed teams
• Your skills are language, framework and toolset agnostic, having worked in at least 3 languages or paradigms, or equivalent experience
• Experience with REST API abstraction layers in complex enterprise environments with SOA and ROA or equivalent experience
• Experience with advanced web applications and TDD on the client side
• Experience with large complex data ecosystems and data quality and lifecycle issues
• A demonstrated track record of being a change agent, leaving every team and process better than you found it
